In today’s overly individualistic society, we sometimes forget where we came from. Did you know that about 98% of modern human history is not documented? I didn’t believe that statistic at first either, so feel free to fact check me! For thousands and thousands of years we depended on each other for survival and lived in closely connected and interwoven tribes. Modern society has abandoned this tribal thinking in exchange for rewarding the most independent, individualistic thinkers, and those who can “pull themselves up by their bootstraps.” Sometimes we need reminding that none of us can do this alone. Loneliness and isolation is truly taking a detrimental toll on us all, and it’s time to admit we have been steered wrong. No one should suffer thinking that they’re alone in their feelings or experiences. Society has become an unnatural expression of how the few climb to the top at the expense of the masses.

I’m here to talk about the things that people don’t want to talk about! The underbelly of life. The things people pretend don’t exist because they’re not pretty enough to be on our “highlight reel”. Society wants to pretend that it’s normal to work a job you hate just to barely get by- that it’s typical to be unhappy and to simply survive. I’m here to say that it is not, and should no longer be normalized.
Early in 2024, I quit my job of four years that was slowly killing me. And that is not an exaggeration by any means. I had been unhappy for so long, and I finally realized how replaceable I was to them. But my life is not replaceable, and it is my job to make sure I live the life I want- and it is okay to seek help from others to live that life.
I’m so excited to see where this blog takes me, and the connections I make along the way. Please comment if this resonated with you in any way, or if you have any stories of your own! I sense a communal awakening of people who are tired of the status quo, and it is such an exciting time to be a free thinker.
